From Enterprise Architects to B2C Innovators: Why We Built TailoredCV.ai

At Nebula, we are known for building robust data pipelines and enterprise-grade automation for complex organizations. Our days are usually spent optimizing legacy systems for solar companies or architecting secure data infrastructures.

But recently, we stepped out of our comfort zone. We are excited to share the story behind our internal product launch: TailoredCV.ai.

Here is how (and why) a team of enterprise data engineers built a B2C consumer app on the Edge.

The Strategic "Why": Empathy Through Engineering

As a software development and data consultancy, a significant portion of our client base operates in the Business-to-Consumer (B2C) space. While we excel at the technical backend—making their data flow and their systems scale—we realized there was a gap in our holistic understanding of their world.

Enterprise software is about stability and compliance; B2C software is about conversion, retention, and user experience.

We didn't just want to build TailoredCV.ai to solve the resume problem (though it does that exceptionally well); we built it to walk a mile in our clients' shoes. We wanted to experience the specific challenges of running a B2C SaaS product firsthand—from optimizing user onboarding flows to managing churn and handling high-velocity user data.

By building TailoredCV, we aren't just vendors to our B2C clients anymore; we are fellow operators.

The "How": Born on the Edge

We approached this build with the same rigor we apply to our ISO-certified enterprise projects, but with a modern architectural twist designed for speed.

1. Architecture on the Edge (Cloudflare Workers)

In the B2C world, latency is the enemy of conversion. If an app feels slow, users leave. Instead of a traditional microservices architecture, which can introduce overhead, we built TailoredCV.ai entirely on the Edge using Cloudflare Workers.

This serverless, distributed architecture allows code to run within milliseconds of the user’s location, anywhere in the world. It gave us firsthand experience in deploying globally distributed applications that scale instantly—expertise we are now bringing back to our client projects.

2. Data Engineering Meets User Intent

A great AI response depends on great data. Before our AI rewrites a single bullet point, we use advanced parsing algorithms to deconstruct a user's uploaded resume into structured data objects. We treat the job description the same way, extracting not just keywords, but intent and competency requirements.

This structured approach allows TailoredCV to perform a Gap Analysis, identifying exactly what a candidate is missing compared to the job description, rather than just generating generic text.

3. Privacy and Security

We are ISO 27001 certified, and we refuse to compromise on security, even for a consumer app. We architected the system to ensure that user data is encrypted and isolated. We proved that you don't need to be a massive enterprise to implement enterprise-grade security protocols.

The Result: A Better Partner for Your Business

TailoredCV.ai is now live, helping job seekers optimize their resumes with real-time scoring and AI-driven rewriting.

But for Nebula, the return on investment goes beyond the product itself. The lessons we learned regarding B2C user psychology, Edge deployment strategies, and high-volume data handling are already influencing how we consult for our partners.

We now understand the pressure of B2C metrics—CAC, LTV, and Churn—because we live them, too.
